Hip-Hop and Obama June 18, 2008

Before Obama’s effect on Hip-Hop fashion was discussed, I was, in fact, wondering how Obama’s candidacy would play out in the world of gangsta and revolutionary rap. Al-Jazeera TV discusses Obama (and other things) with Immortal Technique.
I assume that the more ideologically rigid folk (like The Coup) will think he’s already sold out (though I didn’t find that he’s said anything about the man). Ice Cube has already endorsed. But as he said so eloquently many years ago: “But on the other hand, without a gun they can’t get none, but don’t let it be a black with a white one. ‘Cause they’ll throw you down to the street top, black police showing out for the white cop. Ice Cube will swarm on any mother fucker in a blue uniform.”

Out of curiosity, have any rappers done Beowulf? The delivery would probably be very close to how it was presented way back when.
