Eternal Life is not Eternal Youth June 26, 2008

It’s funny because just last week I was thinking about this.  No, not about Steve Jobs, but I had read one of those articles about some guy predicting that we’ll all live forever after a certain point.  People have known for a long time that eternal life is not eternal youth (see the legend of Echo in Ovid’s Metamorphoses).  But it’s not just a matter of looking and feeling young.  There’s a problem that people with the lifespan of Noah will not be as open to change as truly young people; yet more than likely they would be in charge.  Can you imagine if the world were run by 500 year old men and women?  Men and women from 1500?  They would predate the Reformation.

By the way, nice beard.  Does everyone grow a beard when they get out of the military?

Yeah, pretty much. The pic doesn’t really show the hair too well, but I have a pretty good mane going now. I haven’t had a haircut in about 6 months.
