I took German for a couple of years, and I could never get over how much I sounded like a Klingon when I spoke it. You could be saying very nice things to a non-speaker and they’d think they had only mere moments left to live.

When it comes to German bands, I still prefer Rammstein.

They write (and perform) really good pop songs - thanks.

Have to admit I just couldn’t pick out a lot of it at first. Luckily/Of course there’s a blog post that provides the German lyrics and English translations for both songs (Sven-S. Porst, “Quarter Life Crisis”).

Is it crazy to think of the B-52s here? Can’t quite put my finger on why, is why I’m asking. Something about the music more than the lyrics, though the lyrics also have a full speed ahead quality to them.
